What is Worship? What is worship? To me true worship is when we put the Lord God at the very center of our attention, focusing our praise, thanksgiving and silence on Him alone. In today's world everybody worship's something. Even the Atheist will worship their own efforts, but its human nature to latch onto something to hold higher than ourselves. People worship money or the means of having a good time. You see evidence of this in the way some will work hard all week to party all weekend their worship is in having a good time. Others worship different forms of gods such as any non-Christian religion. They worship mother earth, or some alien life form out in the cosmos. The common thread is that people are looking for something higher than themselves something to give them a sense of purpose (whether we Christians view it as right or wrong). Most just want to be a part of something that they feel is the right way. Because of the traditions of the church services, Christians worship in the confines of their church. If you ask most Christians "What is worship?" they will more than likely say it's something they do on Sunday's in church. Many feel that they need to be Holy only on Sundays that God only inhabits that particular day, but the truth is we should be in a worship mode at all times. God is everywhere at all times Omniscient and Omnipotent - meaning He is all powerful and all knowing and everywhere. It's important for us (Christians) to worship God because we need Him in every aspect of our lives. It's only through worship that we can experience the full presence of God the Holy Spirit. Worship is an invitation from us personally to ask God to be with us. If we stay in a state of worship, then we are always open to Hear his still small voice. We are always open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us safely through all circumstances of life. It's like having a hedge of protection at all times. What is worship but the means to have a relationship with God. Simply put you can't have a relationship with God without worship. In my answer to the question above we have to open the airwaves up to being able to hear God and to allow God to move in our lives. It's in worship that opens these lines of communication. God wants all of our attention and in true worship we give Him that attention. This opens us up to a close personal relationship with God because it's then that we can hear from God and speak with God in our spirits. What is worship and prayer? Are they the same? Worship is the act of opening the communication and
inviting God, The Holy Spirit to us. We invite them to fill our minds our personal spaces this is a
good prelude to prayer time worship God bring in the Holy Spirit's presence and then in prayer we speak
with God.

Psalm 91 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you make the Most High your dwelling even the LORD, who is my refuge- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." |
