God Will Make a WayThe Paradox of Philippians 4:12
This particular verse use to confuse me. Why was Paul instructed to be full and to be hungry? To abound and to suffer need? Isn’t being a Christian supposed to be filling and abundant? Some mislead people would think that we are suppose to suffer, as in be hungry – poverty. But that is a deception that Satan put in people’s minds. Paul said he knew how to be abased and how to abound. He knew how to abound in life. Abounding in life means to totally let go and let God. Jesus redeemed us from the curse, which was poverty, sickness, lack, etc. We can have all, but first we must give up all. Daily. We are to give everything to God, who in turn, gives it back a hundredfold. Thus God will make a way. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers and children, and lands, with persecution; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 10:29-30 KJV Some may find that hard to do. Some people are so strong willed that they won’t let go. But life is a constant struggle for them. Jesus said for us to lay up treasure in heaven. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20-21 KJV Paul was hungry and full at the same time. A paradox, indeed. He was full, with the Spirit, with God’s word. And he was hungry for more. Always striving for more of the anointing, for more Word. God does not intend for us to be physically hungry, or to suffer lack. That is misunderstood. God wants us to hunger for Him. For in hungering for Him, we seek for Him, which is His will. And when we seek Him, we find Him and gives us all things. We hunger for Him and He fills us. God will make a way, always. Paul was taught to be abased and to abound. God intends for us to have abundance. Then why was Paul taught to be abased? Abase means to cast down, to be low, to humble. We are to humble ourselves before God. We are to cast down all imaginations. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV Bringing all our thoughts into obedience of Christ and hunger for Him is the paradox of Philippians 4:12. In doing this we abound and are full. In doing this God will make a way for us always to be taken care of. Go from God Will Make a Way back to home.

A Word for You
This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.

Psalm 91 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." |
