Experiencing Worship

Experiencing worship doesn't always just happen. I believe when we just don’t feel like worshipping God it comes from our carnal human nature, to rebel from being in the presence of God and the Holy Spirit.
I think this is what ultimately banished Lucifer from the presence of god. This is the part of ourselves that we must crucify and be rid of – as Jesus showed us when He died on the cross. We must press in whether we "feel" like it or not. We are told in 1 Timothy 6 to fight the good fight of faith – meaning we must always hold true to what God has called us to be.

But if there are times when we don't feel the presence and feel we are not experiencing worship– we should get down on our faces in silence and give God the room to speak to us. We should align our thoughts to Him only and press in. The barriers might be our own minds and thoughts causing us to not hear or sense. One thing we must believe is that God is always with us – whether we feel Him there or not. It's our own minds that close off the communication. We must press in during these times in faith that He is there and hears us – and that our ears be open to what he has to say to us.

In John 4:23-24 it speaks of experiencing worship of God in Spirit and in Truth: 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

God can only inhabit this worship – those who seek after Him alone. In society and in times past, mankind has worshipped many different gods – in many different ways. The truth is there is only one God – one true God and one true Way – through His son Jesus Christ. It's really very simple to just open up to Him alone and close out all other distractions. This is how God can inhabit His people – this is how God can guide us and lead us into His truth – the one way – the one truth – the one eternal life.

Experiencing worship is a constant awareness of God – and the Holy Spirit. If we are mindful that they are with us continually we are more apt to direct our thoughts and actions to that of purity and Holiness living a life that is pleasing to God and that puts us in the best of all circumstances.

We can connect with God Just by directing our thoughts to Him. Worshipping out loud is a wonderful thing – singing and praising with our tongues brings in true worship – but in times when this isn’t possible – we can direct our thoughts to do this without making a peep. God inhabits our thoughts as well – and when we do this in our minds, He can fill our minds with His presence. The more we practice doing this – the more we are apt to be in a worshipful connection with God at all times. The more we are experiencing worship.

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.
John 3:16 (The Message Bible)

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
