Bible Study of Genesis Chapter 49

Blessings from God concludes the Genesis Bible series and how God had Jacob (Israel) to bless his sons.

Chapter 49 of Genesis dealt mainly with Jacob blessing his 12 sons. God made a commitment to Abraham to bless his offspring. Each generation and each Israelite had to personally accept that relationship by faith, and by faith choose to follow the pathway God laid down in Moses' Law.

Today, God still wants to pour out blessings on His people. According to 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 in the Amplified Bible:
20 For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.
21 But it is God Who confirms and makes us steadfast and establishes us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and has consecrated and anointed us [[a]enduing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit];
22 [He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].

But we have to choose the path that leads to the blessings from God. God said He set before us blessing and cursing, life and death. Choose blessing and life. He wants to bless us and by faith we receive all that He promises. This is how we receive the blessings from God by having faith in His word and believing.
